Pindair built Hovercraft from 1971 starting with Mike Pinders Pincushion - the world's first inflatable Hovercraft from his London factory. The Hovercraft were built for world wide sales. The Skima 2 being a two-seater - Skima 3 being a three-seater and the most successful the Skima 4 of which over 100 were built. The Skima 12 was the 12 seater of which over 24 were sold - but only 12 were built often being sold-on.
This craft was the Sultan of Omans to ferry his family and staff from the Royal Palace through the surf to the waiting Royal Yacht. It was restored by TVs "Salvage Squad" with the help of Griffon Hovercraft and Hovercraft Consultants Limited.
