We regularly accommodate larger groups and offer different rates depending on the situation. For larger groups, we are sometimes also able to open outside of our normal opening hours. For these reasons, if you are in a larger group then we advise you contact us beforehand via the booking form at the bottom of this page so we can ensure everything runs smoothly.
Our museum is run entirely by volunteers and for this reason, we are only able to offer a limited regular opening schedule at present. Unless otherwise stated our opening hours are Saturdays from 10am until 4pm but please keep an eye on the web and Facebook pages for updates on additional opening days!
We often run special events that might differ from the normal opening hours and days. All of these events can be found on our events calendar.
Depending on volunteer availability we are able to offer specially organised private visits outside of hours for larger parties. If you would like to make an out of hours booking please use the booking form at the bottom of this page.
Visitor entry to the museum is via the slipway gate on Marine Parade West only. No access via Daedalus Park/Chark Lane traffic lights.
The museum is 5.5 miles from the M27 Junction 11. For satnav users, please use PO13 9NS which will take you to Marine Parade West on the seafront. There is free parking on seafront and slipway.
The museum can be reached by the Solent Ranger X5 bus route that runs between Gosport and Southampton via the Richmond Road bus stop (2 minutes walk to the museum). The X5 transits via Fareham which has good links to national rail services.
It takes a 10 to 20 minutes to walk from the Lee-on-Solent High Street to the museum.
We have disabled access around most of the site, with disabled friendly WC. As our museum is set in a historic site with old buildings and old hovercraft, some areas may be less accessible to some people than we would otherwise like due to their inherent design. Where possible we have added, alternative routes, ramps and handrails to aid mobility, notably the BH7 where there is a steeper than ideal gradient. If you have any questions or require any accommodations then please don’t hesitate to contact us via our contact form. In addition, any feedback you can give on improving our accessibility will be greatly received.
There are private baby change facilities onsite for parents to use.
Telephone no. 02392 552090*
*Please note that our telephone is only manned during opening times so we recommend you contact us via our contact form or leave a message outside of this period.
