The museum is 5.5 miles from the M27 Junction 11. For satnav users, please use PO13 9NS which will take you to Marine Parade West on the seafront. We do not currently have on-site parking but there is parking on the seafront and surrounding roads.

Accessibility

We are striving to create a top quality experience that everyone can enjoy. If you have any questions or require any accommodations then please don’t hesitate to contact us via our contact form. In addition, any feedback you can give on improving our accessibility will be greatly received.

Accessible Parking

We do not have on-site parking and we recommend parking on the seafront or in the surround roads. For people needing accessible parking we sometimes are able to offer some parking near the front entrance. If you need accessible parking you should contact us before your visit to make sure we can accommodate your needs.

Getting Around

We have disabled access around most of the site. As our museum is set in a historic site with old buildings and old hovercraft, some areas may be less accessible to some people than we would otherwise like due to their inherent design. Where possible we have added, alternative routes, ramps and handrails to aid mobility.

There are two hovercraft that visitors can go inside that are not wheelchair accessible – the SR.N5 and SR.N6. The BH7 hovercraft has a steep inclined ramp which might make boarding more difficult for some visitors. The SR.N4 is wheelchair accessible to the car deck (with a steeper than ideal gradient), but the passenger cabins are unfortunately not accessible for wheelchair users.

Visitors with larger mobility scooters (wider than 78cm) may struggle to fit through some doors in our main building.

Spaced around the site, we have placed seating for visitors to use.

If you have any questions or require any accommodations then please don’t hesitate to contact us via our contact form. In addition, any feedback you can give on improving our accessibility will be greatly received.

Toilets & Baby Change

There are private baby change facilities onsite for parents to use in our gender neutral disabled toilet.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome within the museum along with non-assistance dogs. We have water bowls dotted around the museum for our four-legged friends.
